Gertrude S. (Prisby) Marcorelle

Gertrude Sophie (Prisby) Marcorelle, age 85, lifelong resident of Ipswich, died peacefully at her home Wednesday afternoon, July 28, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Ipswich April 8, 1925, she was one of five children of the late Stefan and Franceska (Sobotka) Przybyszewski. Her brothers Stanley, Henry, Edward and Alfred predeceased her. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a 1942 graduate of Ipswich High School. On June 23, 1946, Gert married Ernest Leon Marcorelle who passed away December 4, 1970.

She was employed for a time at the Ipswich Town Hall and retired after many years of service from the First National Bank of Ipswich. She enjoyed many summers with her family at her cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee, where she was a Charter Member of Lake Shore Park.

She will be dearly missed by her children; son, Ronald and his wife Elaine Marcorelle of Rowley, daughter, Denice and her husband Brad Hathaway of Newburyport, daughter Karen Marcorelle of Ipswich, and son, Kevin and his wife Rebecca Marcorelle of Rowley; her grandchildren, Michael Rousseau, Cory Rousseau and his wife Caroline, Sean Rousseau, Amanda Hathaway and Laura Vivenzio, Mark Hathaway and his wife Leslie, Melissa Stutz and her husband Austin, Michelle Hathaway, and Taryn Marcorelle; her great-granddaughters, Nina Rose Rousseau and Chiara Hathaway Vivenzio.

Her funeral will be held Monday August 2, 8 am from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich followed by a Funeral Mass 9 am in Our Lady of Hope Church, Linebrook Rd., Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Sunday from 6 to 8 pm. Interment will be in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers MA 01923.
