Genevieve M. (Mack)
Kamon, 78 of Topsfield Road, died late Wednesday November 12,
2008 in her daughter’s home following a extended illness. She
was the wife of the late Edward R. Kamon who died in 2003.
Born
in Winchester January 5, 1930, daughter of the late Philip and
Margaret (Madden) Mack, she was a graduate of Stoneham public
schools. For several years she worked as a cook at Durgin Park
Restaurant in Boston. For many years she was employed at the
former Hayward Hosiery in Ipswich and most recently for the
Medical Personnel pool caring for seniors. For the past two
years she enjoyed her friends and the activities at the Spectrum
Adult Day Health Program in Beverly. She especially enjoyed
talking on the phone with her close friends Connie Burke and
Joyce Runge.
She
was a longtime member of Ipswich VFW Post #1093 Ladies Auxiliary
and an avid Red Sox fan, never missing a televised game.
She
is survived by a daughter, Diane M. Kamon-Perry and her husband
Robert of Ipswich; two grandchildren, Janis Brissette and
Kaitlin Perry both of Ipswich; a nephew, Jack Madden of Marston
Mills and a niece, Nancy Mack of W. Dennis. She was the sister
of the late Robert Mack formerly of Stoneham, Philip Mack
formerly of W. Dennis and aunt of the late Katherine Mack
formerly of W. Dennis.
Her
funeral service will be held Monday November 17 at 11 am in the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed
by interment in the New Highland Cemetery, Ipswich. An hour of
visitation will precede the service from 10 to 11 am. Family and
friends are respectfully welcomed. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions in her name may be made to the Ipswich Humane
