Frank A. Taylor, Jr.
69, husband of Margaret L. (Hetnar) of Bunker Hill Road, Ipswich,
died suddenly in his home on Sunday March 5, 2017.
Born June 2, 1947 in
Beverly, he was the son of the late Frank A. and Patricia A. (White)
Taylor. Frank was a 1966 graduate of Ipswich High School and
continued his education at Northeastern University. He was employed
at Varian Assocs. in Beverly, McMillan Labs in Ipswich and served as
an apprentice under Earl Pendexter and John Giza, training as a
brick mason. He later worked with David Porter and for the past
forty years has been the owner and operator of Taylor’s Versatile
Masonry in Ipswich.
He was a communicant
of Our Lady of Hope Church and a member of the John T. Heard Masonic
Lodge AF&AM in Ipswich.
Frank enjoyed a great
football game (especially this past Super Bowl), old westerns and
Turner Classics. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed nothing
more than to spend time with his wife, brother, children and
grandchildren. And let’s not forget his favorite quote, “It’s nice
to be nice but it’s nicer to be Frank”.
In addition to his
wife Margaret of fifty years he is survived by a son, Rodney C.
Taylor and his wife Julia of SC; two daughters, Donna T. Lombard and
her husband Matt of VT, and Victoria M. Taylor of Ipswich; three
grandchildren, Colton Taylor, Ashton Lombard and Abigail Sutherland;
a brother, Michael P. Taylor of Ipswich; a step-brother, Brian
Gillespie of Natick; a step-sister, Patty Monohon of Turner Falls,
and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be
held 9 am Friday March 10, from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6
High Street, Ipswich followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass
of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Hope Church, Pineswamp
Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed.
Visiting hours are Thursday 4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial
contributions in his name may be made to the Vascular Birthmarks
Foundation, P.O. Box 106, Latham, NY 12110 (www.birthmark.org)
