Forrest A. Carter,
59, husband of Maureen E. (Wickstrom) Carter of Town Farm Road
Ipswich, died unexpectedly Thursday February 16, 2017 in the Beverly
Hospital following his brief illness.
Born in Ipswich
October 24, 1957 son of Fred L. and the late Mary Jane (Mulholland)
Carter, he was raised in Ipswich and in his second home in East
Burke, VT. Forrest was a 1976 graduate of Ipswich High School where
he met the love of his life, his "little flower," Maureen. Forrest
and Maureen shared forty-two years together, thirty-five in marriage
and thirty-two at their home on Town Farm Road. Forrest was the
owner of Paine Creek Excavation, LLC where he had worked side by
side with his son. He may not have loved his work, but he was known
as a talented business owner and heavy equipment operator. Paine
Creek was his dream, the dream his son will now carry on. In his
younger years Forrest’s favorite pastimes were skiing at Burke
Mountain and boating in the local waters with his family. More
recently he enjoyed his time with his granddaughters, "his girls",
they were his world. Forrest will be missed and remembered by many
for his smile that would light up a room. He had the gift to make
you laugh without even trying.
In addition to his
wife he is survived by a son, Brandon A. Carter of Ipswich; a
daughter, Gretchen M. Keville and her husband Steven of Byfield; two
grandchildren, Macie Burke Carter and Mollie Jayne Keville; three
sisters, Pamela A. Demetrakpoulos and her husband James of Ipswich,
Beth LaRochelle and her husband Dan of Rowley, and Mary Lou
Greenwood and her husband Dennis of Framingham, and many nephews and
nieces.
A visitation for
family and friends will be held in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home,
6 High Street, Ipswich at 11 am on Wednesday, February 22. A
blessing at 11:30am will then be followed by a “Celebration of
Life” reception at Ipswich VFW #1093, 110 County Road from noon to
4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
www.gofundme.com page name Forrest Strong.
