Evelyn Ann (Brosque) Pszenny

Evelyn Ann (Brosque) Pszenny, 73, wife of Lawrence J. Pszenny of Spillers Lane, Ipswich, died Thursday, October 6, 2016 following a lengthy illness.

Born in Salem September 12, 1943, daughter of the late Julius L. and Edna L. (Leet) Brosque, she was raised in Salem and was a 1962 graduate of Salem High School. Evelyn and Larry met and fell in love at age twelve and after the completion of schooling married in 1966. They started their first home in Salem but relocated to Spillers Lane in Ipswich in 1972 where they continued to build their family and established themselves as long-time residents. In addition to raising her family, as a young mom during her children’s school years, she briefly worked part-time for the school system, was a member of the Town and Country Garden Club and with her family was a parishioner of Our Lady of Hope Church in Ipswich. Evelyn was incredibly dedicated to her family and was its inspiration, guiding light and pillar of strength. She was a strong supporter of her husband and his community involvement and avid supporter of her children’s many activities. Evelyn was her happiest and proudest raising her three children and seeing her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, socializing, eating out and playing cards. She will be remembered for her quick sense of humor, her upbeat personality, her kindness and ability to bring joy to everyone and for singing to the delight of anyone around including her special little ditties.

She is survived by her husband Larry of fifty years, her eldest child Kimberly D. Barlow and her husband Glen of Salem and her two sons, David L. Pszenny and his wife Cynthia of Ipswich, Andrew J. Pszenny and his wife Chantel of Georgetown and a “daughter like” niece Michelle Kelly of Peabody. She has four grandchildren, Austin and Chloe Pszenny both of Ipswich, Lily and Lana Pszenny both of Georgetown. Her siblings include a brother, John Brosque of Marblehead; four sisters, Charlotte Mansfield of Essex, Marjorie Wilkinson of Ipswich and Mabel Klisiewicz of Danvers and her late sister Dorothy Howard of Florida and also much loved nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich followed by interment in the New Highland Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Ipswich Museum, 54 South Main Street, Ipswich and or the Trustees of the Ipswich Library, 25 North Main Street, Ipswich, MA 01938.
