Elizabeth H. (Hanson) Fortier, 87, of Southern Avenue, Essex, died
Sunday June 22, 2008 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital Hospice
following her brief illness. She was the wife of the late Frank C.
Fortier.
Born in Bucksport, Maine October 20, 1920, she was the daughter of
the late Carl and Sarah L. (Homer) Hanson. Married in 1941 the
Fortiers made their home in Ellsworth, ME where her husband managed
a hardware store. During the years of WWII they relocated to
Kittery, where her late husband worked building submarines. They
moved to Essex in 1945.
She is survived by two sons, Peter Fortier of Beverly and Bruce
Fortier of Essex; a daughter, Susan Talbot and her husband Frederic
and a granddaughter, Karen Talbot all of Baltimore, MD, and two
sisters, Maria Tuttle of Randolph and Betsy Cameron of Florida.
A
private interment was held Tuesday in the Spring Street Cemetery,
Essex. Arrangements were under the direction of the Whittier-Porter
Funeral Home of Ipswich
