Eleanore V. (Sklarz) Reilly


Eleanore V. (Sklarz) Reilly, 87, of Appleton Park, Ipswich, died Saturday, October 31, 2020 in the Kaplan Family Hospice, Danvers following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph W. Reilly who passed in July of 2013.

Born in Ipswich on August 10, 1933, Eleanore was the daughter of the late Alexander and Pauline (Sucharski) Sklarz.  Raised in Ipswich she was a 1951 graduate of Ipswich High School. Married at the former Sacred Heart Church in 1951 the Reillys soon made their home on Mineral Street later residing for the past forty years at Appleton Park. She was employed as a secretary at Sylvania in Ipswich for over twenty years then Sylvania in Danvers for another twenty years, retiring in 1993.

An avid sports fan, together she and Joe enjoyed the Red Sox and Celtics and held Patriot season tickets for over twenty-five years.  

Eleanore will be lovingly remembered as a devoted aunt and very favorite to her many nephews and nieces.

She is survived by her three brothers, Edward Sklarz and his wife Janet of Ipswich, David Sklarz and his wife Lisa of Newport, RI, Joseph Sklarz and his wife Candy of Ipswich; three sisters, Carol Ann Collum of Ipswich, Alexandra “Sandy” Bayley and her husband Don of Cary, NC, Nancy Lavoie of Ipswich; many nephews; nieces; grand nephews and grand-nieces. She was the sister of the late Barbara Martel and Cynthia Lemieux both of Ipswich.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Thursday, November 5 at Our Lady of Hope Church, 1 Pineswamp Road, Ipswich followed by interment in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed and are asked to wear masks and observe social distancing. Arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Ipswich Humane Group, PO Box 873, Ipswich, MA 01938.
