Dusan Alexander Koso

Dusan Alexander Koso passed quietly on January 7, 2018 at his Topsfield home as he wished.  Alex was born in Bratislava, Slovakia in 1935.  At the age of nine his family escaped the escalating war to relatively unscathed southwest Germany.

In 1952 he and his mother as stateless citizens moved to Minneapolis, MN, where he learned English and attended High School.  Two years later he was accepted into MIT where he majored in Electrical Engineering.  He received a Bachelorís Degree and a Professional Degree in Electrical Engineering.  All but finished with his PhD, NASA called, needing Alex to do the mid-course navigation systems for the moon shots.  He received numerous rewards and recognitions for his contributions to the fields of Optics and Electrical Engineering.  Alex worked at MITís I-Lab, Honeywell and Draper Labs.  Alex started his own Company, I-Systems making inspection systems for the printed circuit board industry.  Machines were sold nationally and internationally.

Alex loved his work and his family and was always accommodating and agreeable:  easy to like and admire.  His is survived by his second wife, Susan, his three sons, Jan of Seattle, WA, Gregor of South Bend, IN, and Peter of Lexington, and step-sons Will Graceffa of Walpole, and Jeffrey Graceffa of Crested Butte, CO.  He had nine grandchildren.

At Alexí request there will be no funeral service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich.
