Dorothy M. (Cook) Tabor
Dorothy M. (Cook) Tabor, 91, of Caroline Avenue,
Ipswich, and wife of the late Theodore J. Tabor, died Saturday, August 17,
2019, in the Beverly Hospital following her brief illness.
Born on April 24, 1928, in
Ipswich, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mabel (Casey) Cook.
Dorothy was raised in Ipswich and was a member of the Ipswich High School
graduating class of 1946.
Married in 1955 in the Sacred Heart Church the
Tabors soon made their home and raised a family on Blaisdell Terrace. For
several years she was employed at the I.R.S. in Andover, later
self-employed as a home healthcare aide, and most recently, and for many
years, as a healthcare aide at the Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation Center in
Beverly, from which she retired.
Dorothy enjoyed arts and crafts, home cooking for
family and friends, and playing bingo and whist with her friends.
She is survived by three sons, Theodore J. Tabor
Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Ipswich, Stephen Tabor of Seabrook, N.H.,
Stanley J. Tabor and his wife Iris of Lynn; a daughter, Janet M. Bennett
of Tamworth, NH; a grandson, Zachary Tabor of Ipswich; two brothers,
Donald Cook of Franklin, NH and Richard Cook of Newburyport; two sisters
Vivian Gove of Beverly and Marjorie Cook of Epping, NH, and many nephews
and nieces. She was the grandmother of the late Jeanne Tabor, formerly of
Ipswich, and sister of the late infant Bertha Cook, formerly of Danvers.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, August 21, in the Whittier-Porter
Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, from 10 am to 12 pm Interment will
follow in the Highland Cemetery, Ipswich.
