Dorothy B. (Michel) Doyle

Dorothy B. (Michel) Doyle, 93, longtime resident of Goodwin Court,Essex, died Friday, April 11, 2014 in the Masconomet Healthcare Center, Topsfield following her brief illness. She was the wife of the late John “Brud” E. Doyle.

Born in Fall River on January 1, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Ovide H. and Delia G. (Sevigny) Michel.  Dorothy was raised in Fall River following her marriage she made Essex her home. For several years she was employed at her husband's grocery store “The Village Market” in Essex and in later years at the Oakwood Nursing and Retirement Home in Manchester.

Dorothy loved her home and family. She also enjoyed her many hours sewing, knitting, crocheting, home gardening and bowling with friends. She was an avid Bruins and Red Sox fan.

She is survived by a son, Lawrence E. Doyle and his wife Cheryl of Georgetown; a daughter, Faye A. Kokos and her husband Thomas of Ipswich; a daughter-in-law Virginia Bergmann of Gloucester; eleven grandchildren, Lea Doyle of Gloucester, Tarzah Archer and her husband Richard Huntington of MD, Lawrence Doyle, Jr. and his fiancé’ Heather Jernegan both of Essex , Linsey Doyle of Georgetown, Gene Kokos and his wife Jerusha of Amesbury, Casey Kokos and his wife Meredith of Boston,  Christopher and Jessica Bergmann both of VT, Paul Bergmann of FL, Frank Bergmann of Salem and Dorothy Bergmann of Gloucester and eleven great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Frank R. Bergmann and Paul G. Bergmann.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 15. 2014, 9 am from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial, 10 am in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 52 Main Street, Essex. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Interment will be in the Spring Street Cemetery, Essex.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02115.
