Dorothy Aliano, 89, died Thursday April 24, 2008 in the Caldwell
Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following her brief
illness. She was the wife of the late Pasquale Aliano who died
in 1991.
Born in Lynn January 15, 1919, she was the daughter of the late
Victor and Carmela (Presutti) Tirabassi. Educated in local
public schools she was a 1938 graduate of Lynn English. Married
in Lynn in 1941 the Alianos made their home and raised in Lynn
where they lived until their 1977 move to the Bayside
Apartments, Ipswich. She had been a resident of 11 Agawam
Village for nineteen years.
Mrs. Aliano was a longtime member of St Stanislaus Church and
Our Lady of Hope Parish in Ipswich. She enjoyed knitting,
crocheting and sewing for her family and friends. She also
enjoyed her travels with her husband, having visited
California, Hawaii and Texas.
She is survived by her son, Guiseppei Aliano of Palm Springs,
CA, her daughter, Rita Moon of Kingston, NH, grandchildren Julie
Kenney of Northboro and James Moon and his fiancé Beth Barnes of
Gilbert, AZ, and a great-granddaughter, Allison Kenney of
Northboro. She is also survived by her sisters, Palmina Femino
and Lena Coulombe, both of Lynn and many nieces and nephews. She
was the sister of the late Frederick, Giacondino, Alfred and
Casperino Tirabassi, all formerly of Lynn.
Her funeral service will be held Monday April 28 at 1pm in the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St, Ipswich, followed by
interment in the New Highland Cemetery. Family and friends
respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Sunday 4 to 6pm.
