Dora M. (Saulnier) Woodburn

Dora M. (Saulnier) Woodburn, 82, formerly of Caroline Avenue,
Ipswich and wife of the late Roland W. Woodburn, died Thursday,
April 6, 2017 in the Brigham Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center,
Newburyport following her brief illness.
Born in Newburyport January 21, 1935, she was one of the two
children of the late Louis and Margaret (Player) Saulnier. Dora was
raised in Ipswich and was a graduate of public schools. Upon
graduation she went to work for the Ipswich School Dept. as a
kitchen aide later becoming the baker and kitchen manager.
Following these eighteen years of employment she went to work in
the kitchen at Beverly Hospital from which she retired after more
than ten years of service.
Dora was married in 1961 and made her home and raised her family at
her former Linebrook Road address. In addition to family and her
many friends she enjoyed her time doing crossword puzzles. She was a
longtime communicant of the St. Joseph Parish and was a member of
the former Ipswich V.F.W. #1093 Ladies Auxiliary.
She
is survived by a son, Louis Scott Woodburn and his wife Beth of
Ipswich; two daughters, Cynthia Jacobs and her husband Nelson of FL,
Jean Dean and her husband Lester of S.D. ; five grandchildren, Dawn
McGrath of Plymouth, Nate Cousins of Ipswich, Rebecca McDonald of
NH, Elizabeth and Mary Pappas both of SD; four great grandchildren
and a brother, Edward Saulnier of ME.
Her
funeral service will be held 10 AM Monday, April 10 in the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich followed by
interment in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and
friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours will be Sunday 1
to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may
be made to the Brigham Manor Activities, 77 High Street,
Newburyport, MA 01950.
