J.
Donald O達rien, 88, husband of the late Shirley (Crosby) O達rien of
Labor-in-Vain Road, Ipswich, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in his
home.
He was born
in Lynn September 13, 1927, the only child of late John and
Elizabeth M. (Adrien Delameroux) O達rien. During WWII he
served the in the Navy aboard the USS General RE Callan in the
Pacific Theatre.
Don was
an Optometrist and owned an optometry practice in Stoneham, from
1950 till his retirement.
Married
in 1955 the O達riens built a home and raised their family in
Ipswich. They were active in the boating community in and around
Ipswich Bay. Don loved
boating and took the family on many boating vacations to Maine,
Boston and Cape Cod.
He
is survived by two sons, Barry D. O達rien and his wife Rhea of Ayer,
Todd J. O達rien and his wife Allison of Grafton; five grandchildren,
Shea, Brooke and Taryn O達rien all of Ayer and Riley and Avery
O達rien both of Grafton.
His Funeral
Service was held Friday morning July 15, 2016 in the Whittier-Porter
Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich followed by interment with
Military Honors in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery in Ipswich.
