Doane C.
Pressey, of Wenham, formerly of Georgia, died April 11,
2012 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following his
brief illness. He was the husband of the late Muriel Suzanne
Powers.
Born in Beverly July 9, 1945, the son of the late John and
Marjorie V. (Nickerson) Presssey, he
was a 1964 graduate of Saugus High School. He was employed for
twenty five years at Ingalls
Supermarket in Georgia, retiring as a manager in 2007. He was a
parishioner of the Linebrook Church
in Ipswich and the Acworth United Methodist Church in Georgia.
He enjoyed bible study and Adult Sunday School and the Asbury
Grove Campmeeting in Hamilton. An
artist who enjoyed painting and photography, he will be
remembered for his devotion to his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Christine Conway,
Doane Pressey,
Jr, and Kenneth
Pressey; grandchildren Jonathan Conway, Matthew Conway,
Daniel Conway, Matthew Werpecinisky,
Christopher Pressey and Nathan
Pressey; his sisters,
Carrilee

Viggiano and
Jaye Viggiano; nieces and
nephews, Jennifer Lamson, Nancy

Viggiano. He is also survived by a
close friend, Denise Melanson who
was “just like a sister”, and her son Brian
Melanson.
His funeral service was held Sunday April 15 in the
Linebrook Church.
