Debra J. (Carnevale) Waters
Debra J. (Carnevale) Waters, 64, the loving wife of
the late John J. Waters, Jr., of Fenno Drive, Rowley, passed away with her
sons Brad and Johnny by her side on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Beverly
Hospital following her long battle with cancer.
Debra was born on November 12, 1956, in Beverly
where she and her four siblings were raised by their parents, the late
Thomas Carnevale, Sr. and Gertrude (Nadeau) Carnevale, and where she
attended public schools.
One of her first jobs was at her grandmother, Susan
N Carnevale’s assisted living house, The Greycroft Inn of Beverly. There
is where she found her calling for helping others. She became a CNA
(certified nurse’s aide) at a young age and enjoyed working with all ages.
At one point in her career she opened her own home to Ruth Ropes where
Ruth lived out the rest of her years. She gave her heart and soul to all
that she cared for. Debra was a compassionate, caring, and vibrant person
who enjoyed her family, friends and grandchildren. For over thirty years
she was married to the love of her life, Johnny Waters, Jr. Together they
raised three boys together building an amazing life. At their home you
would always find a couple of dogs and a kitchen table full of friends.
Debra’s home was always open to all. Hosting many parties, there was
always a warm welcome and plenty of food (the true Italian way). Debra and
Johnny went on many camping adventures all over, until they settled and
bought a second home on Baxter Lake in Rochester, NH. They spent many
summers there where they would host friends and family, having cookouts,
boat rides, and fishing with the grandkids.
Debra is survived by three sons, Jason Koch of PA,
Bradford Koch and his wife Jessie of Byfield, John J. Waters III and his
wife Elizabeth of Kensington, NH; five grandchildren, Shayna Finocchiaro
of Danvers, Kaylyn Koch of Rockport, Keegan and Kodi Koch of Byfield,
Estelle Waters of Kensington. She is also survived by her loving siblings,
Patricia Jaworski and her husband James of Groveland, Linda Carnevale of
Essex, Thomas Carnevale and his wife Cheryl of Beverly, Lisa Carnevale of
Gloucester and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held 8 am Thursday, August 26 from the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6
High Street, Ipswich with the celebration of a Funeral Mass of
Christian Burial at 9 am in Our Lady of Hope, Church, 1
Pineswamp Road, Ipswich.
Interment will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday 5 to 8 pm. Family and friends with
required facial masks will be respectfully welcomed. In Lieu of flowers
