David A. Dunn, 57, husband of Bonnie D.
(Rutherford) Dunn of Western Avenue, Essex, died Friday, August 7, 2015 in
the Beverly Hospital following his sudden illness.
Born in Beverly July 18, 1958 son of the
late John R. Dunn II and the late Frances “Pat” A. (Remsen) Dunn, he was
raised in Essex where he attended public schools and was a graduate of Essex
Agricultural and Technical School Class of 1976. David owned his own
business, David A. Dunn Firewood, and later adding tree removal to the
business with his sons.
Over the years he enjoyed watching
sports, attending family gatherings and spending time with his children and
grandchildren. He was very fond of his hometown of Essex, where he and his
wife Bonnie often dined at the local restaurants. David enjoyed lengthy
conversations with friends and strangers alike in his beloved hometown.
He’ll fondly be remembered for his pipe and knit hat. In addition to his
wife Bonnie of thirty-three years he is survived by two sons, David A. Dunn,
Jr. and his wife Jannette of Lawrence, Daniel A. Dunn and his significant
other Dezie Rogers of Gloucester; two sisters, Debra Lane and her husband
Howard of Essex, Diane Merchant of Rochester, NH, seven grandchildren and
several nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late John Dunn III
and James Dunn, both formerly of Essex.
Visiting hours are Tuesday 4 to 8 pm the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. A memorial service
will be held 6:00 pm Wednesday, August 12 at Centennial Park, Centennial
Avenue, Essex. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed.
