Dale E. Maguire

Dale Eldridge Maguire, 81, husband of Bonnie E.
(Robertson) Maguire of Sawyer Street, Ipswich, died Saturday November 6,
2021 in the Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport following his long
illness.
Born in Ipswich on May 10, 1940, he was one of the
three children of the late Lawrence and Mildred (Rogers) Maguire. Dale was
raised in Ipswich a 1959 graduate of Ipswich High School. Married in 1962,
the Maguires soon made their home on Sawyer Street where they raised their
family and lived for the next forty-two years.
Dale was employed as an electrician working for
Varian in Newburyport from which he retired.
He was a longtime member of the Christ Church of
Hamilton and Wenham.
Dale enjoyed his free time with family and friends
boating, fishing and clamming the local waters. He’ll be well remembered
for his subtle wit.
In addition to his beloved wife Bonnie of
fifty-nine
years, he is survived by three daughters, Julie Eldridge Maguire of
Manchester-by-the-Sea, Margaret Elizabeth Smith and her husband William of Essex,
Jessica Dale Maguire of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Andrew Winslow
of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Owen Winslow of Lynn, William Smith and
Nora
Smith both of Essex, Keoni Ruiz and Daniel Ruiz both of San Diego, CA;
five great grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Maguire and his wife Anne of
Ipswich and a sister, Marcia Jehn and her husband Dr. Ullrich Jehn of
Krailling, Germany.
His funeral service will be held 11 am, Tuesday, November 30, in
the Christ Church of Hamilton and Wenham, 149 Asbury Street, Hamilton.
Family and friends either vaccinated and or with facial masks are
cordially invited. Interment will be private. Arrangements are under the
direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. In lieu of
flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Alzheimer’s
Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
