Constance B. (Bonneau) Sale, 77, of Argilla Road, Ipswich, died
Friday August 8, 2008 at Merrimack Place in Newburyport,
following her long battle with heart disease. She was the wife
of the late Joseph F. Sale who died in 1998.
Born March 28, 1931 in North Attleboro, to the late Charles H.
and Delia (Goudreau) Bonneau., she was one of seven children.
She was educated in private schools in Massachusetts and France
and graduated from University of California at Fresno with a
Bachelor degree and Masters degrees in Sociology and French.
Married in France, she and her husband returned to the US and
made their homes in California, Hawaii, and later Belgium.
During these years Connie worked at the American Embassy in
Paris on the Marshall Plan, was an insurance adjuster in San
Francisco, a private school teacher in California and Hawaii, an
antique dealer in Belgium, and a gerontologist in Sacramento,
CA.
She was a lifelong communicant of the Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen Sale and her husband Mark
David of Ipswich, a granddaughter, Charlotte David of Ipswich,
two brothers, Richard Bonneau of RI and Gerry Bonneau of AL,
three sisters, Leona Dickey of OH, Diane Velzis of RI and Pat
Keenan of CA, and many nephews and nieces. She was the mother of
the late Janet Sale formerly of NM and sister of the late
Lillian Bono formerly of Melrose.
Her funeral service will be held 3 PM Tuesday, August 12, in the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Family and
friends are respectfully welcomed. Interment will be private.
