Claire Theresa (Lemieux) Carroll, 86, of Ipswich, wife of the
late John A. Carroll, died Sunday December 2, 2012 at
Winchester Healthcare, Winchester.
Born in Ipswich July 7, 1926 daughter of the late Adrian R. and
Aurore (Marcorelle) Lemieux, she was raised in Ipswich and was
a 1945 graduate of Ipswich High School. Married in 1949 the
Carrolls made their home and raised their family on Linebrook
Road, Ipswich. In the 1980 Carrolls relocated to Vero Beach FL
where she and her husband resided until her return to the North
Shore in 2001.
Mrs. Carroll was employed as a telephone operator until her
first born child and thereafter assisted her husband in record
keeping for his Ipswich contracting business.
Claire enjoyed painting and singing in the St. Joseph’s church
choir. She also enjoyed clamming and crabbing in the local
waters.
She is survived by two sons Thomas J. Carroll and his wife
Deborah of Salem NH and Timothy P. Carroll and his wife Cheryl
of Randolph; and her two loving grandchildren, Angela Carroll of
Salem NH and Victoria Carroll of Randolph. She was the sister of
the late Robert G. Lemieux formerly of Ipswich and Marjorie
Johnson formerly of Vero Beach, FL.
Her funeral will be held Friday, December 7, 2012 at 9 am from
the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich followed
by the celebration of a Funeral Mass 10 am in Our Lady of Hope
Church, Linebrook Rd., Ipswich. Family and friends are
respectfully welcomed. Interment will be in the Cowles Memorial
Cemetery, Ipswich. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to express
their condolences may contribute in her name to the American
Heart Association
