Cheryl W. (Morgan) Statho

Cheryl W. (Morgan) Statho, 69, beloved wife of Robert J. Statho of
High Street, Ipswich, died Saturday, December 19, 2015 in the Kaplan
Family Hospice House, Danvers following her long illness.
Born in Somerville, November 29, 1946 she was the daughter of the
late Charles W. and Betty J. (Dunn) Morgan. Cheryl was raised in
Somerville , where she attended the Immaculate Conception and St.
Johns Parochial Schools , and later trained as a hairdresser at the
Di Anthony School in Somerville . Married 1967 in Cambridge the
Stathos’ soon made their home in Lynnfield where they raised their
family. They later built a home in West Newbury where they lived
until they opened of the Town Hill Bed & Breakfast in Ipswich in
1995. The Stathos’ currently own and operate the Arbor Inn Motel in
Ipswich .
Cheryl enjoyed golf and dancing with her husband Bob, painting
landscapes in oil, feeding and watching the birds, and listening to
soft rock and the blues. She was a talented gardener and a fantastic
cook known for the “best pasta sauce in the land.”
In
addition to her husband of forty-eight years she is survived by her
daughter, Alisa Statho and her companion Jason Aptt of Ipswich; two
grandchildren, Olivia and Ian Profenno of Ipswich; a sister, Lynne
Dobson of Florida and several nephews and nieces. She was the sister
of the late Lee Morgan formerly of Somerville and Robin Perry
formerly of Chelsea .
Her
funeral service will be held at 10 am Wednesday, December 23 at The
First Church in Ipswich, Meeting House Green, Ipswich followed by
interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery , Everett . Family and friends
are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4 to 8 pm at
the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Memorial
