Charles R. Amerio, Sr

Charles “Chuck” Amerio Sr., 82, lifelong resident
of Ipswich and husband of Margaret C. (Jackson) Amerio, passed away
peacefully in his home on Sunday morning, September 11, 2022 surrounded by
his loving family.
Chuck was born in Ipswich on December 1, 1939 one
of the two children of the late Jean and Arlene (Holland) Amerio. He was
raised in Ipswich and was a graduate of Ipswich Public Schools. Chuck grew
up on the banks of the Ipswich River where he found his peace and
tranquility. He was a lifelong avid boater and took great pride in being
the last of the original "Wharf Rats". For many years he owned and
operated Amerio Construction of Ipswich. He
also held a captain’s license and took great joy in taking ‘Make a Wish
Foundation’ children out on area fishing trips. Chuck also served as
a US Army Reservist.
In addition to his loving wife “Margie,”
Chuck is survived by a son, Chuck
R. Amerio, Jr. and his wife Laura of Maui Hawaii (formerly of Ipswich); a
daughter, Cheryl L. Hardy and her husband, Peter of Rowley; two
grandchildren, Peter L Hardy III and Steven
Hardy and his fiance’ Chelsey French all of Rowley; a niece, Tina Allen
Eaton of Amesbury and the
love of his life, his K-9 companion ‘Katie.’ He was the brother of the
late Jean ‘Gino’ Amerio formerly of Salisbury.

contributions in his name to Make
a Wish Foundation, 133 Federal St 2nd floor, Boston,
MA 02110. Private arrangements are under the direction of the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. Celebration of His Life to follow
at a later date.
