Carol A. (Quintiliani) Gavin

 Carol A. (Quintiliani) Gavin, 73, of Railroad Avenue, Seabrook, New Hampshire, formerly a longtime resident of Seaview Road, Ipswich, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 in the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, New Hampshire following her long illness. She was the loving wife of the late John “Jack” Gavin who died in 2003.

Born in Lynn, July 23, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Medora (Gilbert) Quintiliani.  She attended schools in Lynn, W. Peabody and Peabody High. Married in Lynnfield, the Gavins made their home in Topsfield before moving to Ipswich upon the birth of their second child.  

For several years she was employed at the Sisters of Notre Dame and Woolworth’s Store in Ipswich. She and her husband Jack were involved with the Ipswich Little League. In 1972 she co-founded and was president of the G.A.L.S. softball league.

She was a member of the Ipswich Wednesday Night Bowling League and the Catholic Woman’s Bowling League. An avid camper, she was also a member of the camping group ‘The North Shore Clamdiggers.”  Most importantly, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and enthusiastically cheered them on in their various sports.

She is survived by her sons, Glenn and his wife Cindy of Rowley, William and his wife Laura of Jefferson, GA; daughters, Catherine Silva and her husband Robert of Peabody,   Nancy Cardarelli and her husband Ralph of Osterville; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Stephen Quintiliani of Amesbury, her sisters, Elaine Kelleher of Winthrop,   Lisa Delorenzi of Clearwater, FL. She was the sister of the late Daniel Quintiliani, Thomas Quintiliani, and Sandra Lebreux.

Her funeral will be held 9 am Wednesday, October 22 from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass at 10 am in Our Lady of Hope Church, Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4 to 8 pm. Interment will be in the New Highland Cemetery, Ipswich. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mrs. Gavin’s name may be made to the North Shore Animal League of America, 16 Lewyt Street,   Port Washington, N.Y. 11050.
