Carmine M. Cafasso

Carmine M. Cafasso, 84, of East Boston, died peacefully on February 15, 2018.  Carmine was the devoted father of Matthew L. Cafasso and his wife Lynne of Deerfield, NH, David A. Cafasso and his wife Heidi of Dartmouth, James J. Baker of Melrose, Paul K. Baker and his wife Virgianne of Boxford, Kim M. Dunne and her husband John of Ipswich, Helene A. Linehan and her husband Michael of Billerica, Kerry Geddis and her husband Justin of Boxford; loving Papa to ten grandchildren and the former husband of Audrey Darling of Somerville and Maria Arrais of E. Boston. He was predeceased by his son, Carmen “Chucky” Cafasso, his daughter Claire Ann Baker, and was the husband of the late Claire Baker, all formerly of Stoneham. He was the brother of the late Angelo Cafasso formerly of Melrose and Louise Caiazzo formerly of Wilmington.

Carmine will be fondly remembered for his love of people, especially for those in need. His strong Christian faith was the source, like a well, from which he drew love and guidance in order to inspire and support others. For the past twelve years he had been an active member of the First Reformed Presbyterian Church of Cambridge. 

His funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 20, 11 am in the First Presbyterian Church 179 County Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours will be Monday, February 19, from 4 to 7 pm in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich.  Interment service with Military Honors will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to The Angel Fund,  649 Main StreetWakefield MA 01880.
