Bradley Robert Amundsen

Bradley Robert Amundsen, 51, of Chattanooga Road, Ipswich, husband of Denise M. (Savage) Amundsen, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 16, 2011surrounded by his family and friends at the Kaplan Family Hospice, Danvers.

 Born in Winchester Nov. 4, 1959 he was the son of Maureen A. (MacKinnon) Amundsen of Ipswich and the late Howard “Bud” Amundsen. A life long resident of Ipswich and 1977 graduate of Ipswich High school, Brad was employed by several companies including General Ionics, IBIS Technologies, Krytek Corporation and CORE Systems. In 2005, Brad took over the operation of Pride Mooring Service in Ipswich.

Brad will always be remembered as a loving son, husband, father and friend who loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a mischievous love of life and sense of adventure. He loved to laugh and make people smile. Whether it was his family, a friend or co-worker, he was always there to lend a helping hand. Living  with his family on Great Neck, he loved the ocean, spending weekends with family and friends boating, fishing and socializing. Brad had a love for animals especially his dogs

In addition to his wife and mother  he is survived by two sons, Bradley R. Amundsen, Jr and William A. “Willie” Amundsen both of Ipswich ; three brothers, Paul Amundsen and his wife Jeanette  of Ipswich, Mark Amundsen and Lisa Arnold  of Elliot, ME, Erik Amundsen and his wife Cindra of S. Hampton, NH; a sister, Stephanie Johnson and her husband Michael of Salisbury  and many nephews and nieces who he loved very much. He will be greatly missed by all.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 23, 11 am in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Tuesday 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial  contributions may be made to The Fund for Denise Amundsen, c/o First National Bank of Ipswich, P.O. Box 330, Ipswich, MA 01938.
