Barbara Ann (Cuneo) Grant, 82, of Chebacco Terrace, Essex, died  unexpectedly Thursday, May 15, 2014 in her home.  She was the wife of the late Frederic W. Grant.  Born in Boston, March 22, 1932, daughter of the late Frank and Dorothea (Heald) Cuneo, she was raised in Boston. Barbara and Fred made their home briefly in Billerica and for thirty plus years in Pelham, NH where they raised their family.  Barbara was a communicant  of St. John the Baptist Church in Essex and a member of the Essex Council on Aging.  She will be remembered for her spunk and faith, as well as her love of the Boston Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots. She is survived by a son, Dennis M. Grant of Essex, a sister, Marilyn Sicurella of Chelmsford, and many nieces and nephews.  She was the mother of the late Deborah J. Grant of Pelham, NH, and sister of the late Doris Larson.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, May 20, at St. John the Baptist Church, Main St., Essex, followed by internment in the Gardens of Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury. Family and friends are cordially welcome.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
