Anne Peckham Flynn

Anne Peckham Flynn, 92, wife of thirty-five years to the late Peter
Flynn, passed away of natural causes at the Seaview Retreat, Rowley on
April 11, 2020.
Anne was born on March 17, 1928 in Melrose, the daughter of the late

in Springfield, graduating in 1945. She then went to Westbrook Junior
College in Portland, ME, graduating in 1947, going on to attend Dalhousie
University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, graduating in 1950. Following her
marriage she made her home in Massachusetts, California, Luxembourg and
Connecticut eventually resettling in Ipswich, where she lived for over
forty years. She had deep family roots in Nova Scotia and dearly loved
returning to visit.
For fifteen years Anne
taught several subjects, primarily French. She was also employed for over
ten years as the Office Manager for Flynn & Reynolds Agency, Ipswich.
Anne
loved going to Cranes Beach with her buddies. She had an artistic heart
and played the piano beautifully. She and Peter loved attending Boston
Symphony and jazz performances. She also had a passion for tennis, having
played in the Canadian Open, not putting her racquet down until she was
75. She
will be remembered for having a warm and welcoming heart and for mentoring
many people over the years. She had a knack for putting people at ease,
and started a support group in Ipswich, making an impact on many lives
over the years. She leaves three loving daughters, Nancy (Wenty) Hill
of Bellingham, WA; Barbara Checksfield and husband Tom of Canton, CT and
Mary Mattern and husband Doug of Sandown, NH; two cherished grandchildren,
Chris Checksfield of Wrentham, Molly Checksfield and her fiancé Joshua
Dorries of Washington, DC and two great-grandchildren Henry and Ethan
Checksfield both of Wrentham. In addition to her husband Peter she was
predeceased by her former husband of twenty-four years, Walter Hill.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Seaview
