Ann M. (Klustner) Garrett

Ann M. (Klustner) Garrett, 95 of Sandwich, formerly of Agawam Village, Ipswich , died Monday July 5, 2010 in the Cape Heritage Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Sandwich following her brief illness.

Born in Acost, PA February 12, 1915, daughter of the late Andrew and Ann Mary (Gi,mra) Kluczny, she was raised in Holsopple, PA where she attended public schools. As a young woman she went to work in New York where she soon meet her husband to be. Married 1945 in NYC the Garretts made their home and raised their family in Eastchester, NY. Moving to Cape Cod, the Garretts owned and operated for many years the former Cape Pine Motel of Dennisport. She has lived in Ipswich for the past thirty or more years.

Mrs. Garrett found great joy in motherhood and grandmotherhood. She also enjoyed long walks and time with her friends at the Council on Aging.

She was a longtime communicant of St. Stanislaus Church and Our Lady of Hope Parish and a member of the Ipswich Council on Aging.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Ann Eaton of Dennis, Eileen A. Vitale of Ipswich , Denise P. Fitzgerald of Mashpee and Heather L. Garrett Hahn and her husband Paul of Beverly, seven grandchildren, Paul Rodham of MI, Michelle Boninsegna of FL, JacLyn Hayes of Newton, NH, Kristen Vlcej of MD, Kirk Fitzgerald of Mashpee, Jason Fitzgerald of Jamacia Plain and Lucas Hahn of Beverly; seven great grandchildren, Kyra, Madison, Jordan, Kayla, Emma, Juniper and Genevieve; a brother, Thomas Klustner of PA, two sisters, Mary Klustner of PA and Kay Swift of Dennis, and many nephews and nieces.

Her funeral service will be held Monday July 12, 10 am from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 am in Our Lady of Hope Church, Pineswamp Road , Ipswich . Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Sunday 4 to 7 pm. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery , Everett . In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to Friends of the Ipswich Elderly, Ipswich Council on Aging, P.O. Box 213 , Ipswich , MA 01938 .
