Raymond H. Marcaurelle

 

Raymond H. Marcaurelle, 82,  of Limerick, ME,  formerly of Linebrook Road  Ipswich, and husband of Anna M. (Roy) Marcaurelle , died Saturday October 6, 2007 in the  Henrietta D.  Goodall Hospital in  Sanford, Maine, following his long illness.

Born in  Ipswich June 24, 1925, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Annie V. (Prisby) Marcaurelle.  Raised on 4th Street in Ipswich, he loved the endless days of swimming and skating on the river. He was 1942 graduate of Ipswich High School.  For three years he served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific as an aviation  radioman, first class. Following the end of World War II and his honorable discharge, he returned to Ipswich. Married 1951 in Medford, the Maracaurelle’s  made their home and raised their family on Linebrook Road in Ipswich. For twenty-five years he was employed as a salesman for Genest Brothers Bakery of Lawrence, retiring in 1977.  He has lived in Limerick, ME for the past thirteen years.

Mr. Marcaurelle was an avid HAM radio operator and enthusiast. He was a  member of the Ipswich VFW Post #1093 and the American Radio Relay League of Newington, CT.

In addition to his wife of fifty-six years he is survived by a son, Roy A. Marcarelle and his companion Lora Perry of West Newbury; two daughters, Norma A. Granese and her husband  James  of New Gloucester, ME and Gail S. Cole and her husband  Tucker of Raymond, ME; and five grandchildren, Lauren Granese  and Jarrod Granese both of Portland,  Samantha Marcaurelle and  Benjamin Marcaurelle both of Manchester-by-the Sea and Jennifer Cole of Raymond, ME.  He is also survived by a sister Norma Spittle and her husband Roy of Gloucester and many nephews and nieces.

His funeral service will be held  Friday October 12, 2007 at 11 am in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed.
