Jennie (Budzianowski) Garand

Jennie (Budzianowski) Garand, 93, of Mt. Pleasant Ave, Ipswich, wife
of
the late Emelien A. Garand, died Thursday October 18, 2007 in the
Seaview
Retreat, Rowley, following her long illness.
Born in Ipswich September 3, 1914 daughter of the late Zenon and Louise
(Grohowski) Budzianowski, she was a life long Ipswich resident. As a
young
woman she worked for several years at the Stocking Factory in Boston
where
she met her husband. Married in the former Sacred Heart Church, they
made
their home on Central Street for several years before moving to Mt
Pleasant. She and her husband were the former owners and operators of
the
Sea Grill in Ipswich and the Pilot House Restaurant of Gloucester. She
was
later employed at Sylvania Lighting Division in Ipswich until her
retirement.
She loved her family. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends
and
spent many hours working on crossword puzzles. She was a communicant of
the former Sacred Heart Church and Our Lady of Hope Church of Ipswich.
She is survived by a son, Frederick Garand and his wife Kathleen of
Ipswich; two grandchildren, Scott Garand and his wife Michele of
Haverhill
and Peter Garand and his wife Amanda; a great grandson, Alexander
Garand;
a brother, Raymond Budzianowski of Ipswich and two sisters Mary and
Barbara Budzianowski both of Ipswich. She was the sister of the late
Alice
Naguszewski, Sophie Allen and Walter, Peter, Zenon and Edward
Budzianowski.
Her funeral will be held Saturday October 20 at 8 AM from the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich, followed by a Funeral
Mass at 9 AM in Our Lady of Hope Church, Linebrook Rd., Ipswich. Family
and friends are respectfully welcomed. Interment will be in the New
Highland Cemetery, Ipswich. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in
her name may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers,
MA 01923.
